Journal Title: International Journal of Ayurveda & Alternative Medicine - Year 2016, Vol 4, Issue 5
Abstract
The healthy individuals consuming specified sanyoga, sanskar and deshaviruddha ahar were divided into 2 group of 50 individuals each. Group A was advised to stop that viruddhaahar and Group B was advised to continue their regular diet. The responses to the questions pertaining to their physical as well as mental health status as stated in Quality of Life Questionnaire (QLQ) were noted before the start of the study. Follow up of the subjects was kept meticulously through a monitoring chart. Personal consultation visits were done after every 4 th week. The QLQ responses were again recorded on 180 day of the study. Physical health Index (PHI) and Mental Health Index (MHI) was calculated before and after the study for each subject. The difference between these indices after study was analyzed statistically. Wilcoxan ranked sign test was applied for this analysis as the data was qualitative and subjective in nature. The result showed that the improvement of PHI in group A was highly significant as compared to that in group B. However, the MHI improved significantly in Group A, where nidanparivarjan (avoidance of incompatible diet) was advised.
