EFFICIENCY OF MILK PRODUCTION AT THE AGRICULTURAL ENTERPRISES

Abstract

Introduction. The decline of the dairy industry is caused to a great extent by unprofitability of milk production, therefore the number of dairy enterprises is constantly decreasing. Local study of specifics and problems of the industry development at the local level with the dissemination of scientific results at the regional and republican level leads to erroneous practical actions of agricultural commodity producers. At the same time, dairy cattle breeding develops quite successfully at many agricultural enterprises, which indicates the availability of opportunities and reserves for increasing the efficiency of milk production. Methods. The research is based using methods of analysis (economic and statistical series of dynamics) and synthesis, graphic method, structuring, grouping of agricultural enterprises by factors influencing the efficiency of milk production. Results. Analysis of the dynamic fluctuations of indicators of the dairy industry development and their impact on the efficiency of milk production showed that the purchase price of milk produced at agricultural enterprises is within the full cost limit. However, with a higher level of product marketability, its purchasing price, sales revenue and production efficiency are increasing. Milk production efficiency is influenced by the rational use of feeds and increased productivity of cows due to the equipment of dairy farms with modern production technologies. It is proved that the growth of milk production efficiency is also conditioned by the increase in the level of concentration, specialization and intensification of production, and the mass of profit serves as a means of promoting the development of the dairy industry, even if its effectiveness is reduced. Discussion. Providing of conditions for increasing the level of marketability, concentration, specialization, intensification of products will promote the development of the dairy industry and increase the level of efficiency of milk production at agricultural enterprises.
