EMOTIONAL DISORDERS AND EFFECTS OF THE PANDEMIC ON CHILDREN'S BEHAVIOR: A REVIEW
Journal Title: Social Innova Sciences - Year 2021, Vol 2, Issue 3
Abstract
Research on the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic is diverse, both in terms of topics and objects of study. However, the scientific literature on the impact of this critical situation on children is scarce at the moment and, therefore, there are few analyzes in this regard. In this sense, this review article aims to collect information related to the negative effects in the social and emotional field produced in children due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In this way, recent specialized literature is investigated, extracted from the databases of Science Direct, Scielo and Google Scholar, to locate the behavioral changes and mental disorders that have arisen in children due to mandatory confinement and the economic and social uncertainty that society has experienced in the context of the pandemic. Consequently, each section shows studies that allow an approach to a subject little studied but closely linked to the future of society, establishing links between the measures to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 that, despite seeking effective solutions to the crisis, have generated collateral effects in the health of people, especially children. As a final result, all this will allow future research to start from topics and bibliographies already systematized to improve their studies.
