ENVIRONMENTAL AUDIT OF RURAL OBJECTS OF GREEN TOURISM

Abstract
Purpose. The paper aims to validate the necessity of environmental audit of green rural tourism objects, and to outline out the ways of carrying on ecologically balanced and environmentally sustainable tourism and business activities. Methodology of research. For studying this issue, were used methods of analysis and synthesis – researching process combination of sphere of rural green tourism and agricultural production; induction and deduction – proving necessity of environmental audit on areas, that use for provision of services of rural green tourism; scientific abstraction proving necessity of environmental audit on areas of rural green tourism, using EMAS (Environmental Management and Audit System). Findings. Established, that the combination of rural green tourism and agricultural production activities within relatively small areas increases human pressure and causes significant negative impact on natural resource potential of the territory. For this reason environmental audit is vitally important for agricultural lands that are used for rural green tourism services. Established, that in EU countries that use the EMAS (Environmental Management and Audit System) standards, the results of environmental audit performance are issued in the ecological declaration. This declaration is considered as public document, so the consumer can get all environmental information on the product in the public domain. Established, that administrative regulation can be applied to our conditions, in the sphere of rural green tourism particularly. The key elements of an environmental declaration are: information about the rural tourism territory, homestead or green building (including indicators on environmental impact), information on hiking trails (including the impact on the environment and human health while staying in particular area), and other indicators relating to environmental protection, security, and environmental policy. Availability of such declaration will increase the competitiveness and attractiveness of the territory to potential users of the rural green tourism services, ensuring them of the environmental safety of the proposed tourism product. Characterized, that long-run objective of green tourism areas environmental audit is determination of the ways of its sustainable development. It includes: minimizing of human impacts, waste management, energy-saving technologies and alternative energy sources, introduction of systems of clean and reuse water, reducing of noise and chemical pollution from tourist transportation, and development of new types of tourism, aimed at high level environmental safety. Originality. The reasonability of conducting of green tourism areas environmental audit with the application of EMAS international environmental standard is specified. Practical value. The results and conclusions of the study can be used by agents of green tourism to improve rates of their economic activity and ecological condition of territories.
