Equidad de género, un reto de la educación superior pública

Abstract
Provide a higher education system that guarantees the protection of gender equality according to public policies is one of the primary objectives proposed by UNESCO into its Agenda 2030 for Latin American and Caribbean countries. Therefore, higher education authorities must implement mechanisms to specify comprehensive quality training that eliminates gender gaps and promotes the appreciation and respect for women in all of the social spheres. It should be noted that women are change-makers in different social and technical areas, due to, their promote significant transformations in research, technology, education, higher education among others. Our study reveals that the macho society still refuses to work with equality conditions with women in the higher educational field, which implies regressive behavior according to human rights. Hence, the Ecuadorian higher educational system must implement effective gender policies that guarantee equal opportunities and conditions between men and women as an applicable mechanism for individual and collective development.
