EUPHONY IN R. KIPLING’S FAIRY TALES

Abstract
The article is devoted to the study of the sound side of the text of fiction. The essence of the concept of “euphony” is revealed. The problem aspects of euphony are pointed out as applied to artistic prose. The rhythm-melodic organization of narrative in fairy tales of the English writer R. Kipling is analyzed. In particular, revealed in the course of research phonetic expressive means, performing the euphonic function, are presented: rhythm, alliteration, assonance, rhyme, onomatopoeia.
