Evaluation of Transmission Grid Voltage Impact on the Operation of Power Units’ Auxiliary Systems
Journal Title: Acta Energetica - Year 2015, Vol 25, Issue 4
Abstract
This paper presents the low voltage impact on the operation of critical auxiliaries of selected generation units in the national power system. Time limits are determined for the operation of these auxiliaries at low voltage in the power system and the acceptable reduced voltages in their secondary circuits at which the generation unit is capable of interoperation with the system. Upgrades of auxiliary systems are proposed which would enable interoperation of the unit and the system at significantly reduced system voltages.

Electricity Generation Reliability in a Power System Including Renewable Energy Sources
The paper presents methods of including renewable energy sources in power system reliability analyses. The focus is on solar power plants. A method of primary energy availability modelling for such sources was proposed....
Efficiency of Supercritical Coal Power Stations with Integrated CO2 Capture and Compression Systems Based on Oxy-combustion Technology
This paper presents supercritical coal-fired power stations integrated with CO2 capture and compression systems based on oxy-combustion. The efficiency and key performance indicators of analysed units with different oxyg...
The Optimal Choice of Electrochemical Energy Storage Parameters
The possibility of using energy storage in a power system is being highlighted increasingly often. Its operating mode or manner of use is called the “storage usage strategy”. One of them, program operation, was selected...
e-Highway 2050: Methodology of Data Contextualization for the Purpose of Scenario Building
The e-Highway 2050 project is co-financed by the EU Seventh Framework Programme and is aimed at developing a methodology to support the long-term planning of the Pan-European Transmission Network, focusing on year 2050,...
Improving Power Quality in AC Supply Grids
This paper describes a digital and actual model of the UPQC (Unified Power Quality Conditioner) integrated system for power quality improvement. The UPQC’s design and its connection to an AC supply grid, 1-phase and 3-ph...
