Evidence for resonant bonding in phase-change materials studied by IR spectroscopy
Journal Title: Semiconductor Physics, Quantum Electronics and Optoelectronics - Year 2017, Vol 20, Issue 1
Abstract
Phase-change materials (PCM) attract attention due to their unique properties. This remarkable portfolio also makes them promising for applications in novel data storage devices. In this study, we discuss differences in the optical properties of PCM and non-PCM in the IR caused by presence or absence of resonant bonding.

Performance limits of terahertz zero biased rectifying detectors for direct detection
Performance limits of uncooled unbiased field effect transistors (FETs) and Schottky-barrier diodes (SBDs) as direct detection rectifying terahertz (THz) detectors operating in the broadband regime have been considered i...
Lowering the density of dislocations in heteroepitaxial III-nitride layers: Effect of sapphire substrate treatment (review)
In this paper, different methods for lowering the dislocation density such as incorporation of the buffer layers, substrate patterning and nitridation, silan-ammonia treatment are reviewed and compared. Advantages and li...
Optical properties of graphene film growing on a thin copper layer
Optical properties and surface structure of graphene films grown on thin 1-μm copper layer using the chemical vapor deposition method were investigated applying spectroscopic ellipsometry and nanoscopic measurements. Ang...
Macroscopic versus microscopic photovoltaic response of heterojunctions based on mechanochemically prepared nanopowders of kesterite and n-type semiconductors
Mechanochemically prepared nanopowder of selenium-free kesterite Cu2ZnSnS4 (CZTS) in combination with n-type semiconductors, i.e., CdS, ZnO and TiO2, was tested in planar and bulk-heterojunction solar cells. The samples...
The influence of ethylene glycol on the chemical interaction of PbTe and Pb1–xSnxTe crystals with H2O2–HBr–ethylene glycol etching compositions
The process of cutting, mechanical and chemical treatment of the PbTe and Pb1–xSnxTe crystal surface has been studied. The dependences of the chemical-mechanical polishing rate versus dilution of the base polishing etcha...
