Fabrication and Characterization of Cobalt/Iron Composite Coatings
Journal Title: Analele Universitatii "Dunarea de Jos" din Galati. Fascicula IX, Metalurgie si Stiinta Materialelor - Year 2013, Vol 36, Issue 2
Abstract
Cobalt/iron composite coatings are used in micro-equipments due to their high magnetic saturation values and Curie temperatures, as magnetic nanoparticles capable of killing cancer cells, for magnetic data storage and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and in coatings, plastics, nanowire, nanofiber and textiles as well as in certain alloys and in catalyst applications. Cobalt/iron composite coatings were prepared by using two types of solution consisting of oleic acid in diphenyl ether and cobalt formate strongly stirred then centrifuged and drayed. Obtained coatings were subjected to chemical and structural analysis by using EDAX and XRD techniques. Some magnetic characteristics have been estimated by drawing the hysteresis loop for various thicknesses of coatings.

This paper presents the experimental research of carbonitriding thermochemical processing in fluidized layer performed on some samples of carbon steel with different carbon contents, the fluidized layer being made up of...
Thermomechanical Process Simulation to Predict Processing of Mechanical Properties of Alloys Al-Zn-Mg-Cu
This paper presents how to perform simulation (prediction) mechanical properties of aluminum alloys of the system Al-Zn-Mg-Cu. Graphical interface that can predict the mechanical properties studied was performed using MA...
Effect of Current Density on Morphology and Corrosion Resistance of Epoxy Resin /Zn Layers
In this research we intended to obtain and characteriz composite layers by using epoxy resin (disperse phase) electrodeposited with zinc (metal matrix). The epoxy resin/Zn layers were electrodeposited at two values of cu...
Solutocapillary Effects of Sulphur in CaO-Al2O3 Slags, in Marangoni Instability and Convection Onset, Related to the Desulphurization of low Carbon, Aluminium Killed Steels
Based on the “one layer model” applied to desulphurization slag layer with boundary conditions, imposed due to the sulphur transfer through the interface steel-slag during desulphurization process, the threshold conditio...
