FACTORS AFFECTING THE SURVIVAL OF PATIENTS WITH RESECTION OF SYNCHRONOUS LIVER METASTASES FROM COLORECTAL CANCER

Abstract

In Bulgaria there is evidence of increasing number of patients with liver metastases from colorectal cancer. Liver resection is the only reliable method improving the survival of patients. Factors related to the primary tumor and metastases affect the outcome of liver resection. The purpose of this study was to determine the influence of various clinical factors on the survival of operated patients (simultaneously or delayed). The team implemented various statistical tools to study the influence of those factors - positive or negative. The survey results are useful in practice in determining the treatment approach.
