Abstract

Interest rates in the markets are directly related to the concept of savings, and this concept is directly related to investments. The real estate sector is the area where the effects of the interest rates shaped according to the central bank policies and global markets. The sector focuses on the concept of housing, which is one of the basic needs of the society, and is an economic activity area that also includes investment activities. In this study, it is aimed to examine the interest practices in Turkiye and the studies related to the real estate sector. The evaluations that will emerge as a result of the study are important in terms of showing how individuals/institutions in the real estate sector or who want to buy and sell real estates should take a position according to interest rate changes. The real estate sector emerges as a locomotive sector in developed and developing economies. Within the scope of society, need is seen as a consumption product and investment tool, and its share in total expenditures is seen to be significant. It can be stated that the processes within the sector will accelerate and the sector will develop with the incentives to be made by the state mechanisms that are the rule maker.
