Journal Title: Pathology And Laboratory Medicine - Year 2018, Vol 9, Issue 2

Abstract

Introduction and Aim : To access the role of USG Guided FNAC in diagnosis of various lung lesions Material and Methods : A total of 44 patients with lung lesions adjacent to chest wall with accessibility through USG window were evaluated . FNAC were performed with 23 G spinal needle under USG guidance. Cytology results reported and data analysed. Result : Cytodiagnosis was made in 36 out of 44 patients , 27 were malignant lesions , 9 benign and 8 were inconclusive due to inadequate cellularity. Conclusion : USG guided FNAC is a safe, less expensive, less time consuming, less invasive diagnostic tool with high rate of accuracy.
