FEATURES OF DISTANCE EDUCATION IN THE US

Abstract
The article of the study of theoretical analysis features of distance learning in the United States. The essence of general-methodological and specific principles is disclosed, the implementation of which promotes the disclosure of features and strategies for the development of distance education in the USA. Researched and summarized the main stages of development of distance education in the US. Followed the evolution of the term «distance education» and other terms related to distance education, characterizing features of learning, students, school in the historical aspect of distance education in the US. Considered changing role of universities and the emergence of new types thanks to the introduction of distance learning in education USA.
