Figurative noun-motivated adjectives in the context of formation and development of Ukrainian language synonymy

Abstract
The study of noun-motivated adjectives as a source of development and enrichment of the synonymy of the Ukrainian language belongs to actual and insufficiently researched problems of modern linguistics. The presented article deals with the derivation processes that lead to the appearance of multi-rooted synonyms, in particular the focus on the creation of derivative units due to figurative motivational relations. In the course of the analysis of synonymous groups of adjectives it was established that the phenomenon of figurative derivation is one of the main means of formation and replenishment of names on the designation of colors, external signs of a person or features of her temper.
