FORMATION OF PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCE OF FUTURE EDUCATION MANAGER

Abstract

The given paper describes the indispensable high quality training of education managers in Ukraine. The term “pro- fessional competence” is determined and the forming ways of professional competence of education managers are char- acterized. Moreover some peculiarities of education managers’ professional duties are set out and the main requirements for management of nowadays higher educational establishment are listed off. Essential is the analysis of contemporary scientific researches in formation of professional skills and activities of education managers. Key aspects of management activities during the training are discovered. Real professional problems appearing in work life shape the development needs. It causes the requisite of professional self-education and activates the pro- cess of professional self-development. An additional point is that higher education as a forming process of professional self-identity should also form artistic activities of manager-to-be. Furthermore formed professional self-identity is not only an important part of manager’s preparedness to professional activity, but also necessary condition of planning and making professional plans on all levels of professional establish- ment. Complete formation of the professional self-identity requests that manager-to-be acquires the main components of corresponding professional activity and overcomes the leading methods and ways of solving professional problems depending on changes in determined conditions of activities forming during professional training. One another duty of training is to prepare the managerial staff to the constantly changing environment, where infor- mation comes through different channels and efficiency of work depends on the ability of solving problems dependent on global concurrency; changes of quality determining citifies; political, social, economic and psychological discour- aging factors existence; increase and complicacy of problems; lack of managers’ commercial goodwill, which requests success; changes in values-based orientations of employees. Nevertheless it is discovered that competency is an important component having an impact on potential of manager. Competency consists of general, communicative, organizational and special parts.
