FREE LICENSES OF THE CREATIVE COMMONS

Abstract
The article deals with the theoretical aspects and background of foundation the nonprofit organization Creative Commons. It is established that the result of the organization’s activity was the creation of one of the best legal constructions of free licenses. Licenses allow simple, open, free, legal and transparent dissemination of the results of intellectual property. Some issues of the application of free licenses for the territory of Ukraine and adaptation to Ukrainian legislation have been explored.
