From interpretation to mythologization: Mykhailo Hrushevskiy Lviv historical school in historiographical debates during the XX century

Abstract

The article analyzes the most mythologized aspects of the establishment and functioning of Hrushevskiy’s Lviv historical school in Ukrainian historiography. The attention is paid to the importance of scholarly seminar, which Hrushevskiy held in the University of Lviv, as the institutional foundation of the school. Besides, the distinct criterion approaches of determining the quantity of members the school included were put forward. The psychological climate and communication practices of Lviv assemblage were reconstructed.
