FUNCTIONAL PECULIARITIES S OF METAPHORIC PATTERNS IN THE ECONOMIC DISCOURSE OF MASS MEDIA

Abstract
The article analyzes the features of metaphorical patterns’ functioning in economic texts in the light of modern media resources. In particular, attention is focused on the study of the English economic terms and use of phrases that are formed on the basis of metaphorical transfer. The most productive ways to translate the metaphorical patterns based on materials from leading international journals are investigated. Using the sociolinguistic method, the history of the formation and further development of the meanings of English economic terminology formed by metaphorization process was analyzed. By applying the cognitive method, the term building within the media based on realities and world perception of different countries was considered.
