ФУНКЦІЇ ЗАГОЛОВКІВ

Abstract
The article deals with the study of the basic title’s functions. The function of the language element is its intended purpose, the potential possibilities are realized in the linguistic act. It is determined that the functions of the titles correspond to the main components of the dictema: nomination - nominative function, predication - representative function, themation - conceptual-content function. The graphical-excretory function is associated with the formal title plan. The title performs a number of functions that have a pragmatic direction, which express author's assessments and attitudes to the statement and provide a response to the reader. The pragmatic functions include advertising and evaluative-expressive title’s functions. Functions are divided into internal and external. The correlation between the various functions of a specific title depends on the characteristics of each text, genre, author's style, and so on.
