GENE FGFR2 POLYMORPHISM IN WOMEN WITH BREAST CANCER IN UKRAINE

Abstract

The presence of genetic polymorphisms rs2981582 of FGFR2 gene was studied as a risk factor for breast cancer in 108 patients with breast cancer and 38 women in the control group. Among women with radiation impact history aged 51-60, the frequency of minor allele was significantly higher than in female patients with breast cancer without radiation impact history [x2 = 5,01, p = 0,03; OR = 4,76 (95 % CI: 1,13–20,12)]. The presence of a mutant genotype of TT polymorphism rs2981582 of FGFR2 gene is associated with increased risk of radiation-associated breast cancer in older women (aged 51–60).
