Generał-gubernator jako kreator polityki rosyjskiej w guberniach zachodnich po powstaniu styczniowym (na przykładzie generał-gubernatorów kijowskich: Nikołaja Annienkowa i Aleksandra Bezaka)

Abstract
During the January Uprising and directly after its termination, the office of the Governor-General of Kiev was held by Nikolai Annienkov and Aleksandr Bezak. Their views on the most important issue at that time of the Depolonization and the Russification of the country was completely different. To what extent was the governor-general a creator of Russian politics, and to what extend did he only execute orders flowing from above? It turns out that the possibilities of the governor-general were limited here. His plans had to support or at least accept the tsar, and this was not possible without the support of friendly, high-ranking people in Saint Petersburg. It was much easier for the general-governor to conduct repressive actions against the Poles because it did not require financial outlays. However, it was more difficult to convince superiors to activities requiring higher expenses. As a result, effects of the Russification activities were limited. In addition, the governor-general had to count not only against the resistance of the Poles, but also with questioning his actions in the highest circles of power.
