HARD-TO-RECOVER RESERVES AS NEW WAY TO INCREASE THE FUEL AND ENERGY POTENTIAL OF UKRAINE

Abstract
The article deals with the predicting of the distribution of the hard-to-recover reserves and the reasoning for their exploration potential as it is an additional hydrocarbons’ source in Ukraine. The following categories of the hard-to-recover reserves are considered: the deposits of low-permeable reservoirs and high-viscous oils. The distribution areas of the hard-to-recover reserves are revealed, and predicting criteria are developed. The main features of the geological distribution, mode of occurrence and formation patterns of the hard-to-recover reserves are highlighted. These researches are conducted by analyzing the results of geological and geophysical surveys and with the special tribute to the world practice of the development of the hard-to-recover reserves.
