Hazardous Gas Detection Robot in Coal Mines

Abstract

There are many coal producing and consuming countries in the world. The most frequent problems that they face are basically the accidents that frequently occurred due to gas explosion, flood, breaking out of fire during the exploitation of coal mine. Hazardous Gas Detection Robot is required to detect various kind of gas in coal mines. Multiple data can be detected and calculated simultaneously, so the response is fast using the same reference value. The range of the measurement is wide and it can accurately detect the gas content. This paper designs a monitoring system for coal mine safety based on ZIGBEE wireless sensor network. In underground section the sensors will sense more parameters based on the environment conditions such as temperature, CH4 (MQ-4), CO, various gases etc. This collective information is send to the micro controller. Micro controller displays this information in the LCD and sends this through ZIGBEE transmitter. This information can also be seen in a graphical form using Graphical User Interface (GUI).
