Historical measurement of execution on brass instruments: pedagogical aspect

Abstract
The article reveals the main stages of the development of performing on brass instruments. The question of the development of modern instruments is discussed. The leading significance of the changes in the 19th century is emphasized, when not only conditions are created for the transformation of some brass instruments, for example, pipes and horns, but also the formation of new – tubes. The leading importance of constructive changes of the instrument to the formation of a new repertoire is noted. It points out a number of problematic aspects facing contemporary performers – for example, the play of works intended for instruments of the previous typological variety – natural rather than chromatic. The execution of Baroque works in their authentic form for a long period was perceived as an unattainable goal, for the solution of which copies of the original instruments were made. A modern performer who plays on brass instruments must possess a complex of skills that will help reproduce works written in different historical epochs and correctly interpret them.
