HISTORIOGRAPHY AND PROBLEMMED STUDIES OF MUSIC FOLKLORE OF LAMPS OF UKRAINE

Abstract
The article deals with the question of the origin of Lemkos: the most western autochthonous ethnographic group of Ukrainians, who from the ancient times lived compactly on both sides of the Western Carpathians – Low Beskydy from the year of Syan, Tsirocha in the east to Poprad with the Dunajets in the west. For several centuries, while preserving the ancient Kyiv-Russian spiritual, domestic and linguistic traditions, Lemkos simultaneously created a unique cultural layer that is an original contribution to the general treasury of not only Ukrain- ian, but also European and world cultural heritage. Historically, ethnic lands of Lemkivshchyna are now included in two neighboring states – Poland and Slovakia. As a result of deportation, the majority of the indigenous population was taken to the Donbas, Ternopil region, Sambir and other regions of Ukraine. The population remaining in their native lands in 1947 as part of Operation Wisla was deported to the Polish lands of western Poland and dispersed between Polish peoples with the explicit purpose of their Polonization. Today Lemkos settlers live compactly on the territory of Western Ukraine, in particular in the Lviv, Ternopil and Ivano-Frankivsk regions. In each of the regions, socio-public and cultural organizations and societies are actively func- tioning, whose main task is to revive, preserve and promote the Lemko dialect, history and culture. But, despite this, the processes of assimilation are still developing. Nowadays, the number of research materials devoted to Lemko’s subjects is increasing in Ukraine. However, there are still a number of issues left out of attention that would thoroughly cover the various aspects of the existence of this sub ethnic under the new conditions. The article focuses on research on the history, collection and publication of folk-ethnographic studies of Lemkos as the most western branch of the Ukrainian people, analysis and characterization of main works on issues. The value of scientific data for the development of cultural studies, Ukrainian studies, and art studies has been determined. Issues of national and cultural identity of Lemkos are discussed. Areas of research have been characterized and analyzed. The types of transformation of the song folklore of lemkos deported in the modern period are described in detail. It is proved that the originality of the Lemko song is rooted precisely in the “borderline” of the cultures in which it grew, in various versions of the various national folklore traditions, which gave rise to the defining features of the Lemko music folk song, and the history of Lemkivshchyna is an example of the immortality of a Ukrainian nation that is worthy of imitation.
