HITOS INTERNACIONALES QUE HAN INCIDIDO EN_EL DESARROLLO DE LA EDUCACIÓN AMBIENTAL EN COLOMBIA

Abstract
La descripción de los principales hitos internacionales y la exploración de los factores que han incidido en la educación ambiental en Colombia tienen como propósito contribuir a la reflexión y explicación acerca de su naturaleza, las tensiones y discusiones que se generan en torno a su validez como estrategia para la sensibilización y cambio de actitud de la sociedad frente al ambiente y sus diferentes connotaciones. Esta investigación de naturaleza teórica surge para dar respuesta al interrogante de cual ha sido el contexto en el que se desarrolla la educación ambiental en Colombia. Metodológicamente se centra en la revisión documental, cronología de eventos, ensamblaje y análisis de los mismos desde una perspectiva sistémica. Los resultados hacen evidente hacia dónde va la educación ambiental, el qué, y para qué se hace educación ambiental, al igual que la escasa gestión y coordinación entre instituciones gubernamentales y No gubernamentales. Los postulados proclamados en las diferentes conferencias internacionales sobre el aprovechamiento eficiente, sustentable y sostenible de los recursos naturales se proyectan siempre en la responsabilidad intergeneracional que se afianza en la cumbre de Río de Janeiro en 1992 y luego el retroceso que se ve reflejado en el cambio climático. En conclusión, se necesita una educación ambiental para transitar del enfoque cartesiano hacia la visión ambiental compleja donde la ciencia y la tecnología permitan correlacionar la cultura con la naturaleza y con la vida desarrollando procesos que coadyuven a un cambio de actitudes y comportamientos para enfrentar los problemas ambientales, locales y globales.
