Abstract
On the material of the literary mystification – Alhierd Bacharevich’s translation of the fairy-tale by Wilhelm Hauff «Heart of Stone» with the extensive afterword of the translator – are analysed the main semantic structures and technical devices of the modern Belarus migrant novel. The translator into the little-known language extensively comments the globally acknowledged text – on the level of presentation this act started a certain literary game; the game adequate to the subject matter of the presented text. The specific work of intertex the reproblematizes the idea of own word and strange utterance, and as such – the semantic fields of the categories of Own and Strange, as well as the means of their transgression. Extensive epigraph from Hauff is included in to the mod-ern work as an autonomous, partly interpretational element, as an authentic addition to romantic reflections on «fact» and «fiction». The novel by Bacharevich thus reflectsuponits place in the postmodern paradigm: it’s about all eviatingthetension between History and Modernity as interconnected events (which is impossible in principle for modernisms). The problem, which becomes obvious: when we systemically cognize the changeless in the world that quickly changes, in doing so we throw aside the notions of historical method, historical understanding as such. This approach in «Heart of Stone» by Bacharevich is the form of intensive postcolonial investing.
