YURIY BOYKO’S STUDIES ABOUT T. SHEVCHENKO THROUGH THE POINT OF VIEW OF CHRISTOLOGICAL INTERPRETATION

Abstract

The subject of the research is Yuriy Boyko’s studies about T. Shevchenko – one of the brightest researchers of Ukrainian diaspora. Within the exploration the potential of Christological interpretation to clarify the basic ideological concepts of scientist’s works is revealed. It’s the main theme of the article. The aim of the research is to define Christian values in researcher’s works. This purpose dictates methodological framework. Christological interpretation is the basic methodology of the study. In addition, some aspects of national and existential, linguocultural and hermeneutical methodologies are used too. The ideas which are outlined in numerous Boyko’a articles possess extremely important in the post-colonial period of development of literary and can be useful for the full disclosure of the ideas of Ukrainian science about literature. This determines the relevance and novelty of this study. Due to theoretical developments expected results are represented. It is shown the efficiency of Christological interpretation to studying Boyko’s scientific experience about T. Shevchenko, key areas of scientist’s deliberation are revealed. Shevchenko in Y. Boiko’s literary practice appears as the brightest national spokesman of our people, the embodiment of wisdom Ukrainian nation, Christian poet. National peculiarity is perhaps poet’s the most distinctive feature. National idea and Christianity are closely interconnected in poet’s outlook. Shevchenko’s religious intentionality is defined as an organizing factor of all ideological poetry. The principle of loyalty to Christian ideals, statist thinking, high artistic level, organic entry into the world literature – the characteristics that distinguishes literary works of diaspora scientist Yuriy Boyko. These findings of article can be applied to study the scientific heritage of immigration representatives, to deepen understanding of the Christian orientation of Shevchenko’s poetry or – increasingly – to develop Christological methodology. The research materials can be used in education institutions and future academic researching
