Humanistic Approach to Inclusive Education Development

Abstract
The article presents the results of the theoretical survey on the humanistic orientation of inclusive education of children with special needs in the law of Ukraine on education. The particular attention to the problem of teaching children with special educational needs is a result of its social and humanistic importance and willingness of Ukrainian people to develop the tolerance society and to establish European values. The problem of education and balanced growth of children with special needs is important today for the Ukrainian society and is caused by the need to appreciate every person with all features of an individual and to create favourable conditions for personal fulfillment of children with special needs as the useful members of the society. Competency-oriented education is based on the humanistic principle. The human being and the fulfillment of every person’s creative potential are recognized as the highest social value. Much attention is given to the opinions of the eminent scientists on the essence of humanitarization of knowledge and humanization of education. Reinterpretation of psychological and pedagogy theory and practice points to the priority of the humanistic approach to teaching and upbringing and deals with the protection of honor and dignity of an individual, the recognition of human right to freedom and happiness, the creation of conditions for free expression of potential and abilities of every person. The author pays special attention on the benefits of inclusive education. According to the article, positive experience of training children with special educational needs at the secondary schools confirms the necessity of humanistic approach to inclusive education. The introduction of the humanistic approach into the process of education could not exist without understanding of the psychological characteristics and individual peculiarities of child’s development and should take into account the conditions under which children are raised in the family, a barrier-free environment, psychological and pedagogical support at schools. The effectiveness of rehabilitation, learning and successful treatment of disabilities of children with special needs depends on integrated solutions to their problems by teamwork of teachers, disability specialists, rehabilitation specialists and the encouraging parents of children with special educational needs to participate in the educational and rehabilitation process. Providing optimum conditions for the inclusive education is the responsibility of the whole society.
