IDEAS OF NATIONAL FREEDOM IN SOHRAB TAHIR'S PROSE

Abstract
Since the end of the twenties of our century, Azerbaijan has become a leading force in the region, standing out for its dynamic development. However, the longing for the Motherland and the countrymen did not subside even in 1991. The idea of a single, integral Azerbaijan today lives in the hearts and minds of the people. Without having acquired a historical reality, this melancholy and sadness has manifested itself in all spheres of life, but most clearly we see it in literature. Both in the south and in the north, people express their longing in non-fiction, verse, prose, and thereby it lays certain ideas into national identity. Sohrab Tahir’s novel, “A Man Lost Twice” stands out for his attitude to national identity and the idea of national freedom.
