IMPACT OF MOUNTAIN ENVIRONMENT ON EDUCATIONAL, CULTURAL AND SOCIO-ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT OF THE RESIDENTS OF UKRAINIAN CARPATHIANS

Abstract
The article analyses impact of mountain environment on educational, cultural and socio-economic development of the inhabitants of Ukrainian Carpathians. The main aim is to determine major factors affecting sustainable development of the Carpathian region. According to the purpose of the research, the task to study the characteristics of mountain areas was outlined, the factors that determine the specificity of their environmental, economic and social development were described. The authors analysed the international experience of managing the development of mountain areas to determine the possibilities of its use in domestic practice.
