Importance of autumnal application of nitrogen and stabilized nitrogen fertilizers in winter rapeseed nutrition (Brassica napus L. convar. f. napus biennis)

Abstract
In the years 2009/10 and 2010/11 we established small-plot experiments with stabilized nitrogen fertilizers Alzon (nitrification inhibitor) and UREAstabil (urease inhibitor) on the linear variety Californium of rapeseed at Research Station of the Czech University of Life Sciences (CULS) Červený Újezd. Autumnal nitrogen dose was 45 N kg.ha-1 and spring dose was 155 N kg.ha-1. A higher yield has been achieved in the first experimental year 2009/10. The most profitable variants in both experimental years were those fertilized in autumn and spring with stabilized fertilizers (ALZON, UREAstabil). The experiments confirmed the effectiveness of using stabilized nitrogen fertilizer on rapeseed nutrition. The main advantage of these fertilizers is gradual release of plant usable nitrogen for an extended period, which contributes to the reducing of the number of applications.
