Improvement of professional training of marine specialists by means of educational and training complex

Abstract
The article is devoted to the search for effective methods of professional training of marine specialists. It is noted that the problem of modeling real life situations of future professional activity of marine specialists in the educational process is of special importance. Particular attention requires the training of future marine specialists through the use of special simulators with appropriate software that provides an adequate modeling of navigation and meteorological conditions and emergency situations, working out the interaction of the ship’s crew with coastal services and other vessels. It is proved that it would be expedient to introduce in the Kherson State Maritime Academy the project “KSMA is a vessel of virtual reality”. A description of the idea, goals and objectives of the project was presented. A description of the planning of the educational space of the KSMA, which should take into account the required amount of professional competencies that cadets need to master during the period of training for the first and second nautical practices, as well as before employment, is described. It is proposed to plan two-week practical training of the cadets of the KSMA in the composition of full-fledged maritime crews using the training complex and training. “Virtual real ship of the maritime industry”. It involves 2 stages: a week of practical work in conditions of keeping watch; Week of discussion and analysis of the quality of watch keeping. It is proposed to implement measures for the full realization of the project to complete the formation of the training-simulator base of the KSMA; development of integrated plans for theoretical, practical and training of cadets; improvement of courses of lectures, practical classes and training of cadets, content of competencies and means of control; introduction of a system for improving the professional skills of scientific and pedagogical staff and instructors; the development of a methodology for organizing cadets’ watch-keeping during a watch-week and a methodical system for teachers and instructors-examiners for the training of competent specialists of all levels for ship’s crews.
