Increasing the stability of asphalt concrete coating to formation of rutting

Abstract
The article considers the issues of increasing the stability of the asphalt-concrete coating to the formation of rutting. In recent years, the load on road surfaces has increased. It is known that the quality of bitumen affects the properties of asphalt concrete, including the formation of rutting. Therefore, the use of additives for bitumen is effective. The classification of modifying additives to improve the properties of bitumen and asphalt concrete is described. These additives are used in road construction in Ukraine. Also, stabilizing and reinforcing fibers are used to improve the properties of asphalt-concrete mixtures. Cellulose and synthetic fibers are most often used in asphalt concrete. It was found that the use of asphalt concrete with a polymer modifier significantly increases the resistance of the coating to rutting. Such asphalt concrete most effectively increases the durability of the coating in combination with reinforcing meshes. Asphalt concrete of increased resistance to rutting is proposed for practical use. This asphalt concrete is produced using crushed stone with a maximum size of 20 mm and can be used as a covering of the upper layers on highways and bridges.
