INDEPENDENT EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITY OF THE STUDENTS, AS AN IMPORTANT FACTOR IN FORMING OF SPECIALISTS’ COMPETENCY WHILE EDUCATIONAL PROCESS IS GETTING COMPUTERIZED

Abstract

Independent intellectual activity as the most important condition of independent student learning. It is shown that increase of the effectiveness of the lecture classes is possible by activation of independent study of the student during a lecture. Independent work should be understood as an independent mental activity. Developed technology of lectures is based on active inclusion of the students in independent work. The organization of such training activities consists of three stages. During the first hour class students read printed text of lectures and try to understand its contents. There is an independent mental activity and process involved to form individual perception of educational material. During the second hour of classes the educational material is taught by the lecturer. The peculiarity of the second stage is that students do not need to make notes because they already have printed and initially processed text lecture ready. Lecturer can use multimedia and computer technology to explain better the material, read by students already (technologies may include a video demonstration of physical phenomena or processes, model experiments, illustrations by animation, film screenings, etc.). During the third stage students are directed to process material again in extracurricular time and independently make a brief synopsis. Control of independent work on the material during the third stage eventually developed through colloquium. Revitalization of the independent work of the students during lectures significantly increases the efficiency of the perception of educational material.
