Influence of aerobic training on red cell antioxidants defense, plasma malondialdehyde capacity in patients multiple sclerosis

Journal Title: International Research Journal of Applied and Basic Sciences - Year 2013, Vol 4, Issue 7

Abstract

It has been reported that exercise induces oxidative stress and causes adaptation in antioxidants defense. The aim of this study was to determine the influence of aerobic training on red cell antioxidants defense, plasma MDA capacity in patient MS. Expanded disability status scale (EDSS). V, were obtained at baseline a post-treatment follow-up and was follow-up. Aerobic exercise training was designed for 36 sessions during 12 weeks. Each session was started with 5 min warm- up and was follow by20 minutes aerobic exercise .The disability score was significantly decreased in test MS subjects after 12 weeks aerobic exercise in this study, antioxidant defense CAT and SOD was significantly increased, plasma MDA level was significantly decreased after 12 week aerobic exercise.
