Influence of the surface finishing on the corrosion behaviour of AISI 316L stainless steel
Journal Title: Materials Engineering - Materialove inzinierstvo (MEMI) - Year 2015, Vol 22, Issue 1
Abstract
The influence of the surface preparation of AISI 316L stainless steel by mechanical grinding, polishing and following passivation was examined by immersion corrosion tests in solution simulating body fluids. Decreasing of the surface roughness by finer preparation resulted in decrease of corrosion rates of AISI 316L stainless steel. Passivation of specimens resulted in decreasing of the corrosion rates and in decreasing of the corrosion process speed independently on the roughness of specimens before passivations. Lowest corrosion rates were observed in the case of polished and passivated specimens. However no significant difference in corrosion rates between polished and ground specimens with following passivation was observed.

EFFECT OF SHOT PEENING ON FATIGUE PROPERTIES OF STEEL IN DIFFERENT STRUCTURAL STATES
The aim of this paper is to evaluate the effect of shot peening on fatigue properties of dual-phase steels DP 600 in received condition, as well as in condition after different regimes of heat treatment. In the work, the...
MICROSTRUCTURE AND FRACTOGRAPHIC ANALYSIS OF DAMAGE REASONS OF COGWHEEL
The article provides an analysis of the damaged cogwheel, which was used as the drive wheel (pinion) in the steering gear box of the construction machine. The degradation of the cogwheel arose during the warranty period,...
KINETICS OF HARDNESS CHANGES DURING AGE-HARDENING OF SILUMIN
Simple phenomenological description of age-hardening kinetics of supersaturated solid solution is presented using the sum of exponential functions with negative arguments containing rate constants, for whose temperature...
Optimal welding technology of high strength steel S690QL
In this paper is presented the detailed procedure for defining the optimal technology for welding the structures made of the high strength steel S690QL. That steel belongs into a group of steels with exceptional mechanic...
