INFREQUENT MEANS OF EXPRESSION OF THE INTENSITY OF ATTRIBUTIVE FEATURE IN THE WORKS BY HORACE, VIRGIL AND OVID

Abstract
The article investigates the infrequent means of expression of the intensity of attributive feature in the works by Horace, Virgil and Ovid. These include: 1) diminutive (diminutive-endearment) suffixes-intensifiers -ulu (-olu), -culu, -ellu, -illu; 2) prefixal intensifiers prae-, per-; 3) amplifying analytical construction quam + adjective; amplifying construction with the quamvis conjunction in subordinative concessive sentences. The article presents theoretical description of their grammatical structure and semantic nature. Functional analysis of these means in the texts was carried out, and peculiarities of their usage were revealed.
