INNOVATIVE EDUCATIONAL TECHNOLOGIES IN TEACHING STUDENTS A FOREIGN LANGUAGE FOR PROFESSIONAL PURPOSES: CONCEPTUAL AND DIDACTIC ASPECTS

Abstract

The article is dedicated to the clarification of conceptual and didactic principles of new educational technologies as well as specification of their nature and structure. Considering the nature of key concepts, the author keeps to the organizational approach within which educational technology is recognized as the method and model of the educational process organization based on the interrelated subjects of major studies on a contractual basis according to the principles of personalization and differentiation, optimal implementation of human and technical capabilities, dialogic communication, which may guarantee the intended results. Educational requirements for the implementation of innovative educational technologies in teaching foreign languages for professional purposes were specified. Particular attention is given to the justification of educational technology of learning a foreign language based on the principle of modularity. Methodical recommendations for improving the methodology intended for a foreign language teacher of higher technical educational institutions were presented. It was concretized that the content of the material requirements for modular technology in learning a foreign language for professional communication should not be either too easy or too difficult in conceptual relation with the level of future specialists’ professional skills. A complete foreign language communication needs to include professionally oriented material which should be interesting for students, meet their professional interests and include professional controversies or inaccuracies that need discussion, modeling of different situations in the text.
