Abstract
In connection with the decentralization reform in Ukraine local public administration tax deserves special attention. The article investigates the institute of local taxes as a system. Using the terminology analysis and interpretation methods, the concept of tax, the subject of tax legal relations, as well as elements of the system of local taxes are analyzed and the theoretical and legal definition of the concept of “local tax” is proposed.
