INSTITUTIONAL PROVISION LIVESTOCK SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT IN UKRAINE

Abstract
Introduction. The decline of livestock production, which is the core of structural crisis in agricultural sector, is considered to be an unsettled issue. Besides, the process of passing the economic crisis in animal husbandry was quite complicated especially for socio-economic status of Ukrainian village. The new reforming paradigm, based on significant changes in main economic principles, is aimed to lead Ukrainian agrarian and industrial complex to its development. The paper reports on the concept of sustainability as an up-to-date issue, which was not taken into consideration by institutionalism. Purpose. The aim of the article is to explore the approach to formation of sustainable development of animal husbandry, founded on institutional basis. Methods. The paper applied the monographic, abstractly-logical and economic-statistical methods. Dialectal method of cognition of socio-economic phenomena was used as the methodological basis of research. Results. The study demonstrated the process of development of Ukrainian agriculture and animal husbandry as well during the period of 1990 to 2014. The author concludes that there was a short-time stability in animal husbandry, which didn’t result in further growth. The significance of urgent institutional mechanisms was highlighted in the paper. The sustainable development of animal husbandry in Ukraine is determined in the context of organizational, economic and financial problems of the agricultural industry. The conceptual approach to the sustainable development of animal husbandry, based on institutional background, was identified. Discussion. The study demonstrated a need for future research in determining the activating factors of animal husbandry growth, based on its sustainable development.
