INTEGRATION OF NATURAL SCIENTIFIC KNOWLEDGE AT GEOGRAPHY LESSONS IN SENIOR PROFILE HIGH SCHOOL

Abstract
The article deals with the relevance of integrating of social-economic, natural knowledge at geography lessons, which is caused by current level of development of science and requirements for the level of education of school graduates. Attention is focused on the importance of intersubject connections in school education at the present stage of educational reform. Examples of integration of economic and geographic content into educational material at world social and economic geography lessons in the 9 – 11th grade of profile high school are given. Integration of scientific knowledge puts forward new demands for teachers as professionals. Today, the level of education of students is no longer determined by the amount of knowledge, but by their willingness to solve problems of different complexity (based on knowledge, skills and abilities), acquired competencies – for the development of which, competent approach is aimed. To a large extent, such activation is promoted by integrated, binary lessons with a projection on the formation of appropriate competences of schoolchildren. Binary lessons are the means to increase the motivation of students to study, as they create terms for practical application of knowledge; contribute to the development of self-education skills, since a significant part of the preparation for the lessons is carried out by students on their own and in extracurriculum hours; develop analytical abilities and ingenuity; have significant educational potential. The purpose of binary lesson is to create terms for motivated practical application of acquired knowledge, skills and abilities, to give students the opportunity to see the results of their work. The modern transition to market relations subjectively raises acute need of practical economic education of students, especially for the students of 9 – 11th grade of high school. In view of this, it is expedient to integrate natural and economic knowledge concerning the content of such subjects as Geography and Economics, during studying of which it is possible to consider the complex issues: rational allocation of certain branches of economy within the country, limited material and human resources, international division of labor, etc.
