Interaction of the electoral and party systems in the Republic of Poland

Abstract
The paper presents the results of a study into the interaction between party and electoral systems of the Republic of Poland. It was identified that the influence of the electoral system’s psychological effect is greater than its mechanical effect. Moreover, the establishment of a stable party system in the Republic of Poland became possible due to the proportional representation system and electoral quotas that led to artificial displacement of non-influential parties from the Polish parliament.
