Interrelation of professional and intercultural communication in professional training of foreign students.

Abstract

The article analyzes the concepts of «communication» and «professional communication», «intercultural communication» as important elements of communication for the exchange of professional information. The author underlines communication needs, which influence the quality of communication in different spheres. The features of the English language training of pilots and dispatching staff are determined due to the specifics of the professional activity of foreign students in the aviation industry. The main objective of language training of foreigners is the formation of professional communication, provision of their communication needs in different spheres of communication: scientific (for proper training in the chosen specialty), socio-cultural and socio-political (for the proper orientation and proper adaptation in the new socio-cultural environment, individual cultural growth), domestic (to meet the needs of everyday life), and to educate a harmonious person that is capable of intercultural dialogue. It is suggested that professional communication of foreign students is formed in language training classes. Professional communication of foreign students can be considered as a complex of motivated knowledge, skills are necessary for conducting speech activities in the educational and professional field. The researcher distinguishes the following main components: motivational, which involves the development of motives and interest in studying the scientific style of speech; a language is associated with theoretical knowledge of language, lexical-grammar skills and the ability to construct sentences grammatically correctly; subject-speech, which provides obtaining knowledge about the content of the subject, improvement of lexical skills, as well as monologue and dialogical speech in the educational-professional field; pragmatic, which leads to the acquisition of knowledge about the appropriateness of the use of appropriate structures, the ability to participate in communication and situations of communication, norms of speech etiquette. It can be noted that a significant number of problems in communication with representatives of different cultures may arise misunderstanding of the causes of each other’s behavior. It is emphasized the importance of the stereotypes of students’ behavior which are particular for different culture.
