INTRODUCTION OF COMBINED RELAY PROTECTION SYSTEMS IN DISTRIBUTION ELECTRIC NETWORKS 6-10 kV

Abstract

Purpose. Development of circuit solutions for relay protection and automation devices that have low cost and low power consumption in comparison with microprocessor and traditional systems. Ensuring reliable relay protection through simple work algorithms. Solutions for increasing the reliability, flexibility and sensitivity of relay protection systems in power networks with decentralized sources of energy. Development of technical measures for improvement of the system average interruption frequency and duration indexes in conditions of power networks. Methodology. Achievement of the relay protection device simplicity and reliability, by the use of the microelectronic database specific properties. Adaptation of input parts of logic elements with contacts of induction and electromagnetic relays. Findings. The basic electric circuit of the protective relay device was developed, which allowed changing the relay protection settings in the autonomous mode, without losing the sensitivity of the mechanism for selecting the direction of power supply. The system of stations in the ring will allow maintaining the selectivity in the after-failure mode or during the generation of decentralized energy sources, being guided by the power flow. Originality. Application of the microelectronic base in combination with traditional electromagnetic and inductive relays. Previously, protection relay devices were divided separately into electromechanical, electrostatic, microprocessor types without smart combinations of each types. Practical value. The use of simple circuit solutions makes it possible to reduce the cost of relay protection devices, facilitate servicing and repair, and extend the life of equipment. The obtained results can be used by electric grid companies to ensure reliable protection of the network, especially with the wide introduction of decentralized energy sources. The offered technical solutions are very important for the modernization of power supply system 6-10 kV in conditions of Ukrainian cities.
