Journal Title: Journal of Air Force Medical University - Year 2023, Vol 44, Issue 6

Abstract

Objective To understand the dietary intake of cadets in an Air Force college during field training and carry out nutritional analysis, so as to provide a reference for the military dietary nutrition support. Methods Dietary intake of cadets during field training was investigated by bookkeeping method, daily energy consumption was investigated by 24 h behavior recording method, physique and body composition were measured by bioelectrical resistance antibody analyzer, and dietary and nutritional behaviors of the respondents and their subjective feelings about food supply during field training were investigated by questionnaires. Results Daily energy intake per capita was higher than energy demand; The fat energy supply ratio was too high, and that of carbohydrate was too low; The intake of livestock and poultry meat was excessive, and that of grains, fish and shrimp, soybeans and dried vegetables was insufficient; The intake of protein, phosphorus, iron, vitamin A and vitamin E was excessive, and that of iodine was insufficient; The average body mass index was (22. 5 ±2. 2) kg/ m2, with a qualified rate of 75. 8% , and the average body fat rate was (13. 3 ± 4. 9)% , with a qualified rate of 81. 8% . Conclusion During the field training, the cadets of the college have a variety of food supply, but their dietary structure is unreasonable, and some nutrients are imbalanced. The dietary and nutritional behaviors of the respondents are good. It is suggested to optimize the dietary structure to promote the physical health of trainees and improve their training ability.
