Abstract
The article traces the origin and development process of Franko relations with the Russian Academy of Sciences. Based on signi¿ cant source material, especially unknown letters from RAS to Franko, the lines of cooperation with the academic institution were traced and factors that prevented Franko to become a academician of the aforementioned scienti¿ c organizations were identi¿ ed.
