Kingdom of Spain - State of Israel: from the "historical anomaly" to stable bilateral relations (1986-2016)

Abstract
The features of formation of political and diplomatic relations between the Kingdom of Spain and the State of Israel are analyzed. The current states of cooperation between Madrid and Jerusalem in the political, economic and cultural spheres are highlighted. Spain and the State of Israel established full diplomatic relations on 16 January 1986. Spain became last West European Nation to establish ties with Israel.
