La créativité langagière des jeunes dans De quel amour blessé de Fouad Laroui : un défi pour la traduction

Journal Title: Argotica - Year 2017, Vol 0, Issue 1

Abstract

The creativity of young people’s language in Fouad Laroui’s De quel amour blessé: a challenge for the translation De quel amour blessé is a novel of Fouad Laroui, a real “novel of young people”, where Jamal and Judith are the protagonists of impossible love, seen their cultural diversity: Jamal is a young Frenchman of north-African origin and Judith is a Jew. In the context of the Parisian cultural interbreeding, both young people live an iden-tity fracture and express their love by means of the French language. This article proposes to analyse the use of young people’s language in this novel and to give some proposals of translation in Italian of its significant extracts. The translation of the young people’s language asks, indeed, “to play with the language”, by exploit-ing all its potential through compensatory strategies, to return the same tone of the source language.
