Journal Title: Psychology and Education: A Multidisciplinary Journal - Year 2024, Vol 19, Issue 6
Abstract
This qualitative-phenomenological study presented the Labovian exploration of the lived experiences of second language teachers on teaching-learning and their guiding principle amidst the pandemic. The Labovian Conversational Narrative Model was employed in extracting the lived experiences of the teachers and analyzing the principles that emerged from their narratives. I used purposive sampling to select my participants who are the ten (10) second language teachers of Polomolok East District. I utilized interviews through the use of a validated in-depth interview guide. From their responses, it was found that the use of the Labovian Conversational Narrative Model was a great help to narrate the experiences and reflections of the participants. Moreover, the guiding principles of the teachers are being resilient and ICT competent, and prioritizing safety. This study may help other researchers by providing additional literature and references about the use of the model as their guide in getting the participants’ narrative. This may also be a motivational drive to do future studies that may create a clear understanding of the model.
